On May 2018 a group of deletionist Wikipedians, interpreting the rules of Wikipedia strictly, started flagging and eventually deleting a big number of articles related to Meher Baba as well as other spiritual or pseudo-spiritual topics. Their argument was lack of the 'notability' criteria required for the inclusion of articles in Wikipedia. As such topics have not been treated by mainstream media or other important sources independent of "insider sources", the opposing arguments could not be strong enough and were soon outnumbered.
